Ad Council ‘Violence Interrupters’

Scroll

Community Violence Intervention (CVI) is making a real difference in at-risk communities throughout America, but it rarely gets covered in the media. We partnered with the folks at Ad Council to celebrate the impact these unsung heroes make each and every day, by immersing viewers into face-to-face conversations where they typically occur.

In the hospital

Community Violence Intervention often happens while someone’s healing from a gun wound and may be considering retaliation.

On the street

More commonly, Community Violence Intervention is stopping retaliation after a loved one has been shot in the neighborhood.

After dark

Other times, Community Violence Intervention shows up as one-on-one counseling sessions that happen in public spaces.

When done right, it can save lives.”
